I would not eat, until my mother ate. I was worried that I would go for something on the plate she desired. I would read aya al Kursi, until she finished eating.

Ibraheem al_Ahmad

“When someone reads and learns (the meanings of) the Quran, and acts upon it, then his/her parents will be dressed with a crown of light on judgement day. Its’ light is as strong as the sunlight. And they will be beautified with jewels, their worth is more than everything in the heavens and on earth. They will ask: Why were we given this? It will be said: “Thanks to the importance your child gave to the Quran.”

(Mustadrak al_Hakim, sound)

In brief:

  • If you would like to thank your parents for raising you and taking care of you, then memorize as much as you can from the Book, study it and teach it, and act upon it, and they will be rewarded.
  • If this is the reward of the parents of he or she who focused on the Quran, what about he or she?

“And worship none but Allah, and be good for your parents.”
